B&N NOOK is about to launch an eReader with a bigger battery. In the US FCC certification documents, an unpublished Nook Digital LLC eReader, model BNRV1300-A, appeared.
While the FCC filing doesn't provide information on screen size, display technology, processor, storage, or price, it does reveal the following: The new eReader will support Bluetooth 5 and WiFi 4, and come with a 2,500 mAh, 3.85V, 9.63 Wh battery. Compared to the 1,500 mAh, 3V, 5.25 Wh batteries of the previous-generation NOOK Glowlight 4 and 4e, the new models could see a big jump in battery life.
According to a Good E-Reader report , B&N designed a prototype of the new product in late 2022 and conducted internal tests. An FCC application is then filed to market the product in the US. Its application has been approved, and the company is expected to begin mass production, most likely in late spring or early summer.
