E Ink, a global leader in electronic paper (TCC code: 8069) and Himax Optoelectronics (Nasdaq: HIMX), jointly announced the launch of a new generation of color electronic paper timing control chip T2000. This chip brings revolutionary breakthroughs to the full-color e-paper platform with faster page refresh speed, lower power consumption and smooth handwriting input.
The T2000 timing control chip is specially designed for Yuantai Technology's full range of color e-paper technology platforms, covering the latest technologies such as E Ink Kaleido™ 3, E Ink Gallery™ 3 and E Ink Spectra™ 6. It is a key core component of color electronic displays. Responsible for generating and managing the timing signals that drive the screen, and controlling the switching time and duration waveform of the driving voltage to achieve optimal performance. also , it has a temperature compensation function to ensure that the screen is not affected by the environment and accurately displays finely adjusted colors and images. . Compared with the previous generation T1000, the T2000 has a built-in Color Imaging Algorithm, which increases the color rendering speed by more than 10 times, significantly improving the image color quality.
The T2000 chip has ultra-low power consumption, with power consumption less than 300 milliwatts (mW) in working mode and less than 2 milliwatts (mW) in sleep mode. This design greatly extends the charging cycle of e-paper products, ensuring that less electricity is consumed when changing screens, giving full play to the energy-saving advantages of e-paper display technology.
The T2000 has a built-in handwriting processing unit (Handwriting Process Unit) developed by Yuantai Technology, which interacts closely with the touch controller and supports handwriting applications in e-paper notebooks without the need for a system on a chip (SoC). This innovative design reduces development complexity and accelerates screen sensing feedback, bringing users a smooth writing experience with almost no delay.
T2000 supports interfaces such as MIPI-DSI / USB(3.0) / SPI, and is extremely efficient in processing content data streams and can convert them into the mLVDS / TTL signal format required by the driver IC. The e-paper screen supported by the T2000 has a maximum resolution of 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) and a maximum frame rate of 150Hz, greatly improving the display effect and application range.
The T2000 has a temperature compensation function to ensure that the screen can accurately display precisely adjusted colors and images in different environments, providing users with a stable and reliable experience. This makes the T2000 ideal for applications such as e-paper readers and e-paper advertising billboards.
The launch of the T2000 timing control chip not only brings revolutionary progress to color e-paper display technology, but also demonstrates the commitment of Yuantai Technology and Himax Optoelectronics in promoting the sustainable development of a low-carbon environment.
