Bigme launched the crowdfunding of Bigme InkNote Color on Kickstarter in July last year, claiming that it is the world's first color E-Ink tablet with a lens. In the end, nearly 2,500 people subscribed successfully on two crowdfunding platforms (the store owner, JC, also buy one!), raised nearly 10 million Hong Kong dollars.
The original color E-Ink screen of this model uses E INK Kaleido Plus technology with a resolution of 936×702 and a pixel density of 117 PPI. Now Bigme has upgraded the screen for this model. The new panel adopts the latest generation Kaleido 3 screen to provide a more accurate color experience, with a resolution of 1240×930 and a pixel density of 150 PPI, which can display more than 5,000 different color combinations. Bigme has developed cumulative color optimization processing technology to display a wider color gamut. One benefit of the Kaleido 3 is that grayscale uniformity has been greatly improved . This will be an upgrade that users will feel. And the old Kaleido Plus display will be disabled.
Since this Bigme InkNote Color is released in cooperation with Good e-Reader in European and American markets, all those who pre-order the old model at Good e-Reader Store will get a free upgrade. The Inknote Color with the new panel is also available on its online store.
It is the first of its kind among E-Ink manufacturers to upgrade the screen panel for the same model without increasing the price. It is estimated that in 2023, readers using color E-Ink Kaleido 3 will become more and more popular.
