The University of Toronto's Li Mingze Diancheng cooperated with the University of British Columbia's Xiangjiang Research Project to launch the " Digitalization Project of Mr. Lee Yee's Works ", aiming to protect and inherit Mr. Lee Yee's precious literary heritage. Mr. Lee Yee is a well-known liberal intellectual whose works have a profound impact on contemporary Chinese and Hong Kong culture. This digitization project has been generously authorized by Mr. Lee Yee’s two daughters, Lee Xiaolei and Lee Xiaobei. The digitized works will be freely accessible with copyright permission, hoping to benefit scholars and readers around the world.
Mr. Lee Yee's works cover a wide range of topics, from social commentary to literary creation, all of which have high academic value and historical significance. This digitization work aims to protect these precious literary heritages, while allowing more people to easily access and study these works, and promote cultural exchange and inheritance.
This digitization project will cover many important works of Mr. Lee Yee, together with the digitized "The Seventies" and "The Nineties" that Mr. Li Zhi authorized for open access to the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library during his lifetime. They are all precious works. . These works have been carefully scanned and converted into digital formats to ensure they preserve their original appearance while improving their readability and accessibility. This initiative not only facilitates scholars and researchers, but also provides readers with an opportunity to understand and study Mr. Lee Yee’s works. Especially for the younger generation, these digital works will become an important resource for them to learn and understand the history and culture of contemporary China and Hong Kong.
