護眼新品:Eazeye Radiant──全球首款15.6吋便攜式TLCD顯示器

New eye protection product: Eazeye Radiant─the world’s first 15.6-inch portable TLCD monitor

In October last year, a very special 24-inch monitor called Eazeye appeared on Indiegogo . It has a reflective plate behind it to reflect natural light as a backlight source. The key point is that the designer Louis Huang sent this new product to a number of supporters as scheduled in February just past! In April this year, Louis Huang launched his second new design Radiant on Indiegogo - the world's first portable display using transflective liquid crystal display technology (TLCD).

The main feature of reflective liquid crystal display technology (TLCD) is that it can reflect 100% of natural light through color filters to display images, and in darker environments, it provides illumination through full-spectrum LED backlight like a traditional display, and In addition to being anti-glare, it also won’t flicker. This technology allows Radiant to provide brighter and clearer images than a standard 100-nit display when exposed to direct sunlight outdoors, while using only one-tenth the power of a conventional display of the same size.

Another big selling point of Eazeye Radiant is its 15.6-inch, 16:9 ratio 1080p touch screen display, which supports 60fps and 60Hz refresh rate and can display 16.7 million colors. Its all-aluminum metal body design includes two USB-C ports and a mini-HDMI interface, and supports a VESA mounting system for easy installation on desktops or other surfaces. However, like other reflective displays, Radiant also has the limitation of a narrow viewing angle, with a horizontal viewing angle range of only 5 to 65 degrees.

Eazeye Radiant is now crowdfunding on the Indiegogo platform . Its launch special price is $649 and is expected to ship in June.
